FemArt (FA)– Hola Montserrat, podries descriure’t tu mateixa, breument, en la teva trajectòria vital i artística?

Montserrat Anguiano (MA) – Doncs em dic Montserrat Anguiano em considero artista afrocatalana, soc afrodescendent i el meu art està en evolució constant, ara mateix està en el punt en que necessito fer un art polític, crític, social, antiracista i feminista…es podria dir que estic fent artivisme…

FA– Què en vols mostrar amb aquest mural que has fet per FemArt a Ca la Dona?

MA-Amb aquest mural m’he sentit lliure, m’he tornat boja també, i he plasmat el que tinc en el meu interior que és aquesta força, color, i poder africà que queda palès a la paret amb aquests colors primaris tan macos i tan vius…, i a la vegada són llum, denúncia i crit. Quan veus el mural no et deixa indiferent, es nota que és reivindicació i denúncia…,i la reivindicació de la importància d’aquests referents africans que son dones, dones negres, però en elles, el color no és l’important, per això són perfils, l’important és que són dones i son totes referents nostres. Hem de conèixer i reconèixer aquests referents africans o afrodescendents , aquestes dones negres…, perquè a la lluita feminista anem totes juntes, no es tracta de colors, encara que malauradament ( ja en parlarem d’això…) a vegades sembla que no anem per la mateixa via. Hauríem d’anar per la mateixa via, juntes, fent xarxa i avençar juntes…

FA-Quin tipus de reclam , vindicació o denuncia t’agrada plantejar directament? I quins son els teus referents concrets?

MA- Mira, quan jo vaig començar , el 2001 – 2004…, bé, jo soc una dona negra adoptada, he crescut entre gent blanca, per tant els meus referents eren blancs i vaig començar a pintar dones blanques dels anys 20, la Louise Brooks, per exemple, referents musicals com la PJ Harvey, que m’agrada molt, dones molt potents , molt roqueres, m’agrada molt el rock alternatiu, coses així…, perquè la meva adolescència va ser bastant fosca, si compares la meva obra de llavors amb la d’ara, veuràs que no té res a veure, era fosca i ara és tota llum. A partir del 2015, que vaig fer una catarsi, vaig començar a conèixer gent negra, afrodescendent, llavors em vaig començar a empapar de referents afrodescendents. A més de dones famoses com l’Àngela Davis o Rosa Park, Josefinne Baker,… vaig conèixer dones més properes, del meu entorn (em centro en la dona perquè és el meu tema, no és que cregui que els homes no han fet res, però, ara bé, ara ja ens toca a nosaltres), dones que mereixen visibilització i reconeixement, no sols en el món de l’art, també dones periodistes, metgesses, advocades, cantants, dones negres que han de tenir el seu lloc aquí, gent d’aquí. Perquè hi ha qui creu que per ser afrodescendent i viure aquí, no pinta res. I no és veritat, són dones que sumen en el feminisme de totes. Jo, encara que he pintat alguna d’aquestes dones, tinc pendent aquest projecte de fer retrats de dones afrodescendents catalanes, n’hi ha moltes. Jo soc afrodescendent i em sento ben catalana. A vegades no et deixen, hi ha gent que no et deixa. Jo he patit una crisi identitària amb la meva negritud aquí, perquè com tots els imputs que venen d’Àfrica són negatius, jo no volia reconèixer el meu origen, volia ser sols catalana i molts no accepten que siguis catalana per la meva negritud… Ara estic orgullosa de ser afrodescendent i catalana! Ho soc peti qui peti… I no som sols quatre, som moltes i molts aquí, però no ens veuen, no sortim en els medis, sembla que no existim, no se’ns dona representació.

FA – Art com a teràpia i denuncia o com anunciació?

MA – Mira el que vull transmetre a la gent és la meva riquíssima dualitat, vull que la vegin i la sentin. Jo sóc una persona amb dualitats i amb polaritats: sóc europea, soc catalana, però sóc africana; sóc adoptada, però estic amb contacte amb la meva família a l’Àfrica… tota la meva vida son dualitats. La meva obra parla d’aquests dos mons. Aquest mural per exemple té el fons de colors vius que representen el meu origen africà, la part màgica, mística, d’apoderament també de la dona africana (encara que no es cregui)… i les figures, les línies, els perfils que faig en blanc i negre (no és un fet casual, està estudiat) representen la meva part blanca. Aquesta obra uneix les meves polaritats, crea sinèrgies entre els dos mons que jo sóc. El fet de ser dos mons no és fàcil, a vegades és com estar en un Limbo, … ser negre aquí no és fàcil, jo vaig a un lloc i parlo en català i em parlen en castellà, i jo torno a parlar en català i em diuen: “que bé parles el català, d’on ets?”…, això forma part dels micro-racismes habituals. Tanmateix jo soc els dos mons!

FA – M’agrada molt el que has contat en altres indrets, que el 2015 es va creuar en el teu camí el sentiment de negritud i també quan expliques que vas passar del “jo-isme” a començar a expandir-te amb referents africanes, cap a les comunitats africanes, amb un poderós sentit de pertinença. El passar d’allò individual a allò col·lectiu t’allibera i t’apodera: podríem dir del teu art que quan“pintes a una i pintes a totes”…?

MA – Sí , sí , és molt important recalcar això que dius, perquè sovint a les comunitats es potencia massa a l’individu i s’oblida el col·lectiu. Tu pensa que si es veu una dona negra es veuen totes. Una dona negra que es veu als mitjans, o en una obra artística és com un altaveu de totes. És bo deixar-nos de egos, de creure que ets protagonista en soledat i pensar en col·lectiu, llavors t’apoderes a tu i a tot el teu col·lectiu… algunes persones s’equivoquen molt buscant aquest protagonisme individual, com aquest Ignacio Garriga de Vox, “el negre de Vox”! Està molt confús!… Cal pensar en col·lectiu…Mira, hi ha moltes dones que són importants i aporten reconeixement a la comunitat a la que pertanyen , perquè pensen en col·lectiu, com les Sey Sisters o la Bea Duodo, no són protagonistes , són altaveus que parlen de totes! I No sols altaveus de les dones negres, sinó també de totes les dones.

FA – La teva proposta, Montserrat, es especialment positiva: mostres bellesa, potència, autoestima i molta seguretat en el que planteges… les teves perspectives i referents tenen un circuit clar: apoderament de les dones i canvi des del poder. És el cas de Bisilia Bokoko, la teva mentora, dona poderosa que impulsa una gran campanya d’alfabetització a l’Àfrica. Aquest poder s’ha obtingut dintre del capitalisme, creus en el sistema capitalista?

MA – Uf, aquesta entrevista és exigent, m’agrada!… Jo crec que el capitalisme ha petat, o petarà. Amb el confinament molta gent hem reflexionat i hem vist el que realment necessitem per viure: menjar i estar amb la nostra gent, res més… jo penso que lo ideal, lo que m’agradaria fer a mi (sóc humil , no entenc molt de política…) és crear xarxes i reforçar-les, el que fem ara a les comunitats afrodescendents és això, la clau és aquesta, impulsar l’economia de la nostra comunitat; és a dir, si he d’anar a la perruqueria, fer-ho a perruqueries de la nostra comunitat, tenir directoris de tots els serveis, botigues, etc… de gent negre, afrodescendent, com hem de fer també amb les dones: ajudar-nos d’aquesta manera, si has d’anar a un advocat, a un metge, doncs ves a una advocada, a una metgessa i si pot ser afrodescendent millor… Ja sé que això no deixa de ser capitalisme, és heavy, però és que sense el capital, sense generar beneficis no es pot avençar. Vull dir que no es tracta d’abolir el capitalisme, sinó d’abolir el capitalisme al que estem acostumades, crear altes tècniques, altres maneres de progressar que no siguin el capitalisme patriarcal…

FA – Totes les dones de qualsevol ètnia i classe social han estat colonitzades pel patriarcat. Creus que això, en el marc dels feminismes, fa més fàcil la complicitat entre dones diverses? Què penses de les discrepàncies entre feminismes? Què voldries dir a les feministes blanques europees i concretament catalanes?

MA – Ara ens estem adonant que moltes dones diverses tenim experiències comunes, compartim situacions. I com més som, més por fem perquè tenim molta força juntes. Ara ja no ens poden callar! Mira lo meravellós que va ser l’últim 8 de març! Fins ara ha tingut més protagonisme el feminisme blanc, però el que vull dir a les feministes blanques és el que va dir Àngela Davis amb una frase molt famosa: “El feminismo serà antirracista o no será” i Sojourner Truth també deia que quant lluitem per una dona negre també lluitem per totes les dones… El feminisme no ha de ser blanc, ni negre ha de ser de totes les dones, hem de lluitar juntes. Sororitat!. Si guanya una guanyem totes. Si jo puc explicar el meu art, si puc fer un taller per dones, i dic dones, no dones negres, explicaré coses d’Àfrica de la nostra història. Així com jo he aprés la història de Grècia clàssica, perquè no podem aprendre la història de totes des dels nostres orígens? La història que expliquen a Europa es blanca, com si a Egipte no fossin negres, els nubis eren negres, i la primera biblioteca va ser a Mali. I després s’ha de saber que ens van espoliar i ens van esclavitzar… s’ha de saber la nostra història! No podeu imaginar el què és rebre mirades de menyspreu pel carrer pel fet de ser negre! Hi ha mirades que fan molt mal! Com pot ser que algú pugui creure que és superior a mi pel fet de ser blanc?! La llei també és racista, mira el que passa amb els temporers a Lleida! Hi ha racisme institucional! Bé, però jo soc optimista perquè hi ha gent que té ganes d’escoltar, que no es creu tot allò que ens han venut…S’han de descolonitzar les ments! Hem de treballar juntes, ens necessitem!

FA -Quin paper ha jugat, juga o pot jugar l’art des de aquesta inesgotable pandèmia del covit19?

MA -Pot ser ens hem adonat de l’important que és la cultura per sobreviure i la música, l’art,… han estat vitals en el confinament. No són productes de luxe, són necessaris per una societat, defineixen arrels i formes de ser i de viure. La cultura ens ha salvat en el confinament. Paradoxalment, quan hi ha crisis, els retalls, les restriccions van sempre cap als artistes i els esdeveniments culturals! Hi ha interessos foscos en aquests fets i els artistes hem dit No! Ens hem de plantar…No es pot maltractar la cultura i la gent que ens hi dediquem.

FA – I quines perspectives tens?

MA -Jo com a Montserrat Anguiano, estic contenta, animada. Tinc projectes. M’agradaria poder transmetre aquesta força i energia que tinc. Voldria transmetre aquest discurs antiracista i feminista i ho puc fer a través de l’art. Els tallers que faig son terapèutics i alliberadors, treballem l’expressió, treballem les emocions, és tot molt energètic… i penseu que tothom pot fer art. Cal una actitud humil, relaxada i un despullament , llavors surt l’expressió de tu mateixa. Fitxa’t però, la poca importància que l’educació dona a l’art. Jo crec que, junt amb els esports, haurien de ser tan importants com les matemàtiques o la llengua…, les arts , els esports alliberen i es més difícil llavors “domesticar” a les criatures de forma jeràrquica i patriarcal. Mira, a dalt de la piràmide de valors estipulats hi ha: home blanc, a baix la dona blanca, a sota està l’home negre i a baix de tot, en última posició, la dona negre! I no en parlem de si, a més, no ets heteronormativa! Jo ho tinc tot : soc dona, soc negre, bisexual, super catalanista i mare soltera… Ja veus, què més vols?
