FemArt (FA) – Per aquelles persones que no et coneguin, com et presentaries a tu mateixa?

Elena de Santi (ES) – Soy Elena, soy italiana. Soy diseñadora grafica e ilustradora. Mi trayectoria es interesante ya que estudié en BARCELONA y fue mi primer lugar donde me vine después de Italia. Aquí crecí un montón, la ciudad me encanta y aparte me siento agradecida por como me acogió. Y me sigue acogiendo! Estube trabajando mucho aquí y también en Inglaterra, en Estocolmo, en Canarias,… y en todo este camino he crecido un montón personalmente, professionalmente y anivel artístico también. Ahora estoy muy contenta de todo este camino, la verdad. Bueno, y ahora vuelvo a estar por aquí!

FA – Y nosotras nos alegramos! Ahora que hablabas del tema laboral. Te ha costado mucho profesionalizarte como artista o diseñadora?

ES – Sí, me ha costado bastante encontrar lo que me realmente me gustaba hacer en mi vida. Cuando lo encontré, que fué acercándome mucho a la ilustración, la verdad es que fue un giro difícil, puesto que yo venia de trabajar en diseño gráfico. Aunque toda mi vida he dibujado. Entonces, llegar a que alguien te reconozca como ilustradora ha sido un camino difícil. Después de muchÍsimo tiempo dibujando e intentando sacar lo más profundo de mi misma logré hallar este estilo, que és por el qual ahora se me reconoce, que es el que he hecho en este mural. La verdad es que estoy muy contenta porque fue muy lindo cuando la gente empezó a apreciar mi estilo, y por ello se acercaban a mi.

FA –Justamente de tu estilo también queríamos comentar algunas cosas. Cuando empezaste con este estilo con cuerpos ondulados, deformados, sinuosos y colorista?

ES –Este estilo la verdad es que no empezó hace mucho, empezó alrededor de 2017. Fue un trabajo muy duro, porque en realidad es que cuando empecé a darme cuenta de este estilo propio, me di cuenta que venia de lejos, que en mis dibujos antiguos estava presente. Lo que me representa mucho es el trazo muy ondulado. Es como el movimiento de todo mi cuerpo, que parte de la mano, y que construye todo un cuerpo. Fue divertido cuando descubrí rastros de mi estilo, y que ya lo llebaba haciendo durante mucho tiempo. Dije: vale, este es mi estilo. Fue como ver la luz!

FA –Aquí todo Ca La Dona te hemos visto trabajando en el mural, y hemos comentado la manera que tienes de soltar el brazo o la mano y tus movimientos a la hora de dibujar…un trazo libre y todo un mobimiento de tu cuerpo. Te queriamos preguntar sobre tu relación con este tipo de intervenciones, sobre si has hecho muchos murales o cosas de grandes dimenisiones.

ES –La verdad es que para mi es algo bastante nuevo porque yo sobretodo dibujo en digital, aunque los bocetos los haga a mano. Siempre acabo usando el digital. Trabajo noirmalmente para editoriales y así puedo trabajar archivos que hay que preparar para impresion. Un mural tan grande como este no lo habia hecho en mi vida! Así que esto es mi primer mural asíd e grande, però el 3ero que hago aunque los otros son mucho mas pequños. Para mi los colores son muy importantes. Cuando empiezo a dibujar voy detras del concepto que me piden; pero siempre tengo muy presnte mi paleta de color. La primera parte siempre es trabvjar el color y tener clara la paleta de colores, porque si no me quedo como bloqueada y no logro visualizar el dubijo. Los colores para mi son fundamentales, luego voy definiendo y precisando. Para mi el color es el boceto, y no tanto el dibujo.

FA –Nosotras te propusimos que trabajaras el concepto Tekopora, que también se está trabajando en la residencia emergêncies3, cuentanos la idea que está detras de este dibujo y comentanos un poco tu intervención:

ES –Fui leyendo bastante sobre el concepto y la verdard es que lo connecté con el acto de compartir. Compartir, estar en harmonia con lo demas y la naturaleza. Entonces en mi dibujo hay naturaleza y dos cuerpos que comparten un momento o momentos dibertidos. Queria que se viera la alegria, la harmonia o el estar en paz.Queria transmitir el estar disfrutando del momento, el sonreir y la confianza.

FA –En tus obras siempre son personajes femeninos, verdad? Alguna vez te has preguntado porqué?

ES – La verdad es que sí! Pues… No sé… A ver yo me he preguntado muchísimas veces el porque pero. A mi el cuerpo femenino me queda más cerca, pues yo soy mujer. Y entiendo ese cuerpo a traves de estas líneas curvas i sinuosas. Creo que este estilo me encaja más con los cuerpos femeninos, aunque no necesariamente. Ahora también estoy intentando otro tipo de figuras y también trabajar la masculinidad. No está descartado, pero de momento me he centrado en estos personajes femeninos. También por una reivindicación feminista, el representar a las mujeres y su fuerza es importante para mi.

FA – Últimamente que se ha extendido mucho el movimiento feminista también en canales maisntream, has observado si tienes mas seguidoras, o si tu estilo está podriasmo decir más de moda? Que encaja más en los ultimos años?

ES – Yo la verdad es que si que lo he notado. Ha habido un cambio bastante importante. Se me ha acercado bastante gente preguntandome sobre mi trabajo. Siento que hay gente que se ha acercado más a mi trabajo que antes. Espero que esto dure mucho, la verdad! Que no se a una moda! Que se mantenga y que vaya avanzando, en general todo el movimeinto y sus repercusiones!

FA – Nos has contado que has trabjado en diversos países, y también que el panorama artístico y profesional de Barcelona, a ti te ha ido bastante bien. Este no es el relato que solemos encontrar-nos con las artistas que conocemos, justamente. La gente nos cuenta que es casi imposible vivir de las producciones artísticas. Como ves este panorama local? Es distinto a los demás païses? Crees que el no ser una artista local o nacional te ha ayudado en tu profesionalización?

ES – La verdad es que al principio fue super difícil. Yo vine sin hablar una palabra de español. A la vez, fue un reto. Yo creo que en todas las ciuades me ha pasado un poco igual. Al principio hay un impacto grande que tienes que afrontar y plantar cara. No hay que dejar que te derrote. Lo gracioso que me ha pasado en Barcelona, es que me he ido muchas veces de Barcelona pero siempre acabo volviendo. Lo bonito que me ha pasado aquí es que yo he ido creciendo y volviendo y la ciudad me ha ido acogiendo de una forma diferente. Igual no hay que juzgar ni las ciudades ni las personas, al final es intentarlo. Pero si, a mi me ha ayudado mucho Barcelona, también me ha tirado abajo en algunos momentos, eh? pero en general depende de como lo vivas.

FA – En este camino que has hecho en Barcelona, que crees que seria bueno tener y que no se tiene a nivel artista? 

ES – A nivel de ciudad por ejemplo la cuestion de los pisos y las habitaciones, los precios son de locos. Esto se tendria que arreglar ya.. conozco mucha gente que lo pasa mal. Yo también lo he pasado mal en este sentido. Otra cosa que mejoraria de Barcelona son los espacios verdes, creo que no hay suficientes zonas verdes. Ultimamente también hay un problema con el tema de limpieza de calles, una ciudad que igual no está tan bien cuidada como deveria. La gente no cuida mucho ciertos espacios.

FA –Estos puntos también los podriamos vincular con el concepto Tekopora verdad?

ES – Totalmente! Todxs tenemos el derecho de vivir bien y estar comodx en el lugar donde nos encontramos. Estos cambios formarian parte del buen vivir
